The Watchful Chameleon

Still on the branch, one clawed foot wrapped around the bark, tail curled into a tight spiral, the eye turned forward and holding. This is patience made visible — the slow, deliberate watchfulness of a creature that moves only when it chooses to. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every scale, every ridge of the casqued crest, every gripping toe stays connected in one continuous piece. The weathered texture of the branch and the fine pattern of the skin read together, instantly, from across the room.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows the chameleon's outline with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold the rough grain of the bark against the scaled body, and to preserve the curl of the prehensile tail without a single break in the line. The clawed toes, narrow where they grip, survive the cut because each form is engineered to remain structurally bound to the whole. One piece of steel, no joins, wall-ready across all five sizes.
Light gives the piece its second life. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The chameleon seems to shift on its branch as the light moves through the day — sharper in direct morning sun, softer and more atmospheric in the evening. It is a depth that flat prints and framed photographs cannot reach, and it changes with every hour.
Four finishes to suit the room: matte black for the sharpest silhouette and the strongest contrast against light walls, matte white for a calmer presence in bright interiors, raw steel with a clear protective coat for an industrial grain that echoes the texture of bark, or corten rust for a warm earthy patina that deepens over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg depending on design complexity. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
A chameleon with a casqued head perched on a weathered branch, one clawed foot gripping the bark and its prehensile tail curled into a tight spiral. The eye is turned forward, watchful and still. Every detail — scaled skin, head crest, gripping toes, rough bark — stays connected in one continuous piece of steel.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire design — scales, crest, branch texture, and curled tail — is one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap creates a floating effect with a layered shadow behind the steel that shifts throughout the day as the light moves.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest silhouette, Matte White for a calmer presence on bright walls, Raw Steel with a clear coat for an industrial grain that echoes the bark texture, and Corten Rust for a warm earthy patina that develops naturally over months.
