The Watchful Frog

Still on the stone, eyes wide, watching something just beyond the frame. There is a patience in this pose that anyone who has waited at the edge of a pond will recognize — the frog that does not move because moving would break the moment. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every striped pattern across the body, every webbed toe gripping the stone, the bulging eyes and the pitted surface beneath all stay connected in one continuous piece. The engraving-style line work reads instantly: a small creature holding perfectly still, and you holding still to look back.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows the frog's contour with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to preserve the intricate line patterns on the skin and the texture of the stone underneath. The narrow channels between the leg textures and the toes survive the cut because every line is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole. One piece of steel, no welding, no assembly, wall-ready across all five sizes.
Light does the rest. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The frog seems to lift off the surface as the light moves through the day — sharper in direct morning sun, softer and more atmospheric in the evening. Outdoors on a patio or garden wall, the shadow shifts with the weather and the hour. It is a living quality that flat prints and canvas cannot approach.
Four finishes to match the setting: matte black for the sharpest silhouette and strongest contrast against light walls, matte white for a calmer presence in bright rooms, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a subtle metallic grain, or corten rust for a weathered organic texture that deepens naturally over weeks and months — well suited to a sheltered garden spot. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg depending on design complexity. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
A tree frog perched calmly on a smooth stone, eyes wide and gazing forward. The engraving-style silhouette captures a moment of stillness — the patient, observant pose of a creature holding perfectly still. Every detail, from the striped skin patterns to the webbed toes gripping the stone, remains connected in one continuous piece of steel.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire design — every line, texture, and detail — is one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required, and the panel holds its shape across all five sizes without backing or reinforcement.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap creates a floating effect with a layered shadow behind the steel that shifts throughout the day. Suitable for interior walls as well as sheltered patios and garden spots.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest silhouette and strongest contrast, Matte White for a calmer presence on bright walls, Raw Steel with a clear protective coat for a subtle metallic grain, and Corten Rust for a weathered organic patina that develops naturally over months — well suited to outdoor garden settings.
