The Watchful Ostrich

That eye holds you before you notice anything else — round, alert, fixed on something just past your shoulder. The ostrich turns in profile, crest feathers lifting like a wind-caught thought, the long beak curving toward a horizon only it can see. This is a portrait of attention itself: the oldest gaze on the savanna, watchful and unhurried. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every feather around the crest, every fine texture along the neck stays connected in one continuous piece — a face you would recognize across any room.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam traces the downy plumage and the delicate ridge of the beak with 0.1mm precision, holding the intricate feather pattern around the eye without breaking the line. Each strand is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole, so the dense detail of the crest survives the cut. One sheet of steel, no welding, no assembly — wall-ready as a single object.
Light finishes the portrait. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, the panel casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The crest seems to ruffle as daylight moves through the room — sharper in direct morning sun, softer and more atmospheric toward evening. The feather textures double, once in metal and once in shadow, giving the ostrich a depth that flat prints and canvas cannot reach.
Four finishes to suit the room: matte black for the sharpest profile and the strongest contrast on light walls, matte white for a calmer presence in bright interiors, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a warm metallic grain that suits the bird's earthy origins, or corten rust for a weathered savanna tone that deepens naturally over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg depending on design complexity. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

The head and upper neck of an ostrich in profile, gazing intently forward with its crest feathers raised. The silhouette captures a watchful, majestic presence — the feather textures around the crest, eye, and beak rendered in fine detail and held in one continuous piece of 2mm steel.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire design — every feather, the eye, the curved beak — remains one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap creates a floating effect with a layered shadow behind the steel that shifts throughout the day.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest profile and strongest contrast, Matte White for a calmer presence on bright walls, Raw Steel with a clear coat for a warm metallic grain, and Corten Rust for a weathered savanna tone that develops naturally over months.
