He walks calmly through a wall of raised fists. White robe, lowered gaze, the cross already waiting against the palace steps — and around him the crowd surges, soldiers close in with spears, the moment tightening toward what everyone knows is coming. This is the Via Dolorosa held still: the stillness of the condemned against the noise of the condemning. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every figure, every spear, every arch of the classical palace stays connected in one continuous piece.

The scene belongs to the long tradition of Passion imagery — the moment Christ is led from Pilate's palace toward Golgotha, rendered here in the spirit of 19th-century academic realism. The composition reads as a quiet center surrounded by chaos: the serene figure flanked by armor, framed by jeering arms and the heavy arches of stone. It is a narrative that countless artists returned to across centuries, each finding the same tension between resignation and cruelty.

Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop, the cutting beam follows each contour with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold the folds of the robe, the lattice of raised arms in the crowd, and the ornamental border that frames the scene. Every line is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole. One piece of steel, no welding, no separate parts joined afterward. Powder-coated for lasting protection, or left as corten that develops its own patina.

Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, the panel casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The crowd, the cross, the lone white figure — all doubled in shadow, shifting as light moves through the room. Sharper at midday, deeper and more solemn toward evening.

Four finishes carry the scene differently: matte black for the starkest contrast and the gravity this subject asks for, matte white for a softer presence in bright prayer rooms and chapels, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a tempered industrial warmth, or corten rust for a weathered, ancient surface that deepens over months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.
