Daniel in the Lion's Den

A beam of light falls from above into the rocky dark, and Daniel kneels within it — face uplifted, hands clasped, encircled by seven lions that snarl but do not strike. This is faith held in the worst possible place, the moment the miracle becomes visible. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, the prophet's flowing robes, the lions' menacing postures, and the shaft of divine light all stay connected in one continuous piece. The chiaroscuro of the original engraving translates into solid metal and open space — what was shadow becomes void, what was light becomes steel.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows every contour with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold the texture of Daniel's beard, the mane of each lion, and the jagged edges of the cave wall. The seven beasts, the kneeling figure, and the radiant beam remain a single structurally connected piece. No welding, no assembly, no separate elements joined afterward. The panel holds its shape across all five sizes without backing or reinforcement.
Light completes the work. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The divine beam that saved Daniel reappears on the wall itself — Doré's drama cast twice, once in metal and once in shadow. Sharper in direct light, softer and deeper in the evening, the scene shifts character as the day moves through the room.
Four finishes to suit the space: matte black for the sharpest contrast and the most dramatic reading of the chiaroscuro, matte white for a softer presence in bright interiors, raw steel with a clear protective coat for an industrial grain, or corten rust for a weathered, cave-like patina that deepens over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
The prophet Daniel kneeling in prayer inside a rocky den, face uplifted toward a beam of divine light, encircled by seven snarling lions that do not attack. The scene captures the moment faith becomes a visible miracle — drawn from Gustave Doré's 19th-century engraving and translated into 2mm steel.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire scene — Daniel, the seven lions, and the beam of light — remains one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap creates a floating effect with a layered shadow behind the steel that shifts throughout the day.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest contrast and the most dramatic reading of the chiaroscuro, Matte White for a softer presence on bright walls, Raw Steel with a clear protective coat for an industrial grain, and Corten Rust for a weathered patina that develops naturally over months.
Five sizes preserving original proportions: S (45 cm), M (60 cm), L (80 cm), XL (100 cm), and XXL (130 cm) on the longer side. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 kg to 8 kg depending on size and design complexity.
