The Praying Madonna

Eyes gently closed, hands clasped, breath held in the space between words and silence. This is prayer itself — not a portrait of a person, but the posture of devotion made permanent. The veiled Madonna bows into her own stillness while a spiked golden halo radiates behind her, and the rosary rests against an ornate gown stitched with floral patterns. A single rose marks the hem. Everything here speaks of inward quiet held within outward splendor.

Cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel, every element stays structurally connected — the lace edges of the veil, the radiating spikes of the halo, the beads of the rosary, the angular thorns framing the composition. No welding, no assembly, no separate pieces joined afterward. The laser beam follows each fine contour with 0.1mm precision, holding even the delicate floral embroidery and the subtle angelic figures along the halo border as one continuous piece of metal, wall-ready.

Mounted on standoff spacers, the panel floats 15mm from the wall. Ambient light passes through the cut openings and casts a layered shadow behind the steel — the halo's rays projected twice, once in metal and once in light. As the day moves, the shadow shifts: sharper in direct morning sun, deeper and more contemplative in the evening. It is a living quality no flat print or framed icon can replicate.

Four finishes carry the mood differently. Matte black gives the sharpest sacred silhouette against light walls, matte white softens the devotion for bright prayer rooms, raw steel with a clear protective coat lends a quiet metallic gravity, and corten rust develops a warm patina over weeks and months. Five sizes run from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg.
