Bonsai Against the Red Sun
Order today — delivery by 21 Aug
A pine that took a lifetime to bend this way, rooted in stone, holding its ground against a sun that has just cleared the horizon. The tree leans into decades of patience — every twist in the trunk a record of where the wind pushed and where it refused to break. Behind it, misty pines fade into distance and small birds cut across the branches. This is a scene about endurance shaped slowly, cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel: the gnarled bark, the exposed roots gripping rock, the disc of the sun all held in one continuous form.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows each fold of the trunk with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to keep the texture of the aged bark and the fine reach of needled branches intact. The roots, the rocky base, the bridges that hold the sun's circle to the tree are all engineered to stay structurally connected. One piece of steel, no welding, no separate parts joined afterward — wall-ready and built to hold its shape across every size.
Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The bonsai gains depth the flat image never had — the trunk seems to stand forward of its own shadow, the sun reads as a quiet halo of dark behind bright metal. As light moves through the day, the shadow lengthens and softens, and the composition shifts from sharp morning clarity to a calmer evening presence.
Four finishes shape the mood. Matte black gives the sharpest bonsai silhouette and the strongest contrast on a pale wall — well suited to a meditation space or a quiet study. Matte white reads softer in bright Japanese-inspired interiors. Raw steel with a clear protective coat brings a metallic grain that echoes weathered bark. Corten rust deepens to a warm ochre over weeks, fitting for the sun's glow. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, weight from roughly 1.5 to 8 kg.

Frequently Asked Questions
A gnarled, twisted bonsai pine rooted in rock, standing against a large rising red sun with misty pines behind it and small birds near the branches. The silhouette reads as quiet endurance — a tree shaped slowly over decades, frozen in 2mm steel with every fold of bark and exposed root connected in one continuous piece.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire design — trunk, roots, sun, and branches — is one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required, and the steel holds its shape across all five sizes without backing.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap holds the steel off the surface and creates a layered shadow behind the bonsai that shifts as light moves through the day.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest silhouette and strongest contrast, ideal for a meditation space; Matte White for soft, bright Japanese-inspired interiors; Raw Steel with a clear protective coat for a metallic grain echoing weathered bark; and Corten Rust for a warm ochre patina that develops naturally over months.
Five sizes preserving the original proportions: S (45 cm), M (60 cm), L (80 cm), XL (100 cm), and XXL (130 cm) on the longer side. The shorter side follows the artwork's aspect ratio. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 kg to 8 kg depending on size and design complexity.
