Overlapping Feathers

Feathers layered upon feathers, each plume curving over the next in a slow, deliberate cascade. There is something quieting about it — the way a single feather suggests flight, weightlessness, the moment something soft drifts to rest. Here the cluster reads as pure rhythm: fine veining, the spread of barbs, the high-contrast play of light and dark, all held in one continuous sheet of 2mm steel. From across a room it is texture; up close it is a hundred fine lines, each one earned.

Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows every barb and quill with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to keep the delicate veining of each feather intact. The ornamental line-art survives the cut because every stroke is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole. One piece of steel, no welding, no separate parts joined afterward. The panel holds its shape across all five sizes without backing or reinforcement.

Light completes the work. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel — the feather pattern doubled, once in metal and once in shadow. As daylight shifts, the shadows lengthen and soften, and the cluster seems to breathe against the wall. It is a depth that flat prints and framed illustrations cannot reach, changing character from sharp morning light to the quiet of evening.

Four finishes to suit the room: matte black for the sharpest line definition and dramatic contrast on light walls, matte white for a softer presence in bedrooms and spa interiors, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a subtle metallic grain, or corten rust for a warm patina that deepens naturally over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg depending on design complexity.
