Rings of Years
Order today — delivery by 21 Aug
Count outward from the dark center and you are reading a life — every ring a year of drought or rain, a season of growth or pause, written into wood long before anyone thought to look. This cross-section holds that record: concentric circles widening from the pith, radial cracks splitting the grain, the rough remnant of bark at the edge. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, the whole history stays connected — every fissure, every irregular ring, one continuous piece. It is a quiet object about time, and where we were while the tree was keeping count.
Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam traces each growth ring with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold the asymmetric ring spacing, the hairline radial cracks, the texture where bark meets heartwood. The narrowest gaps between rings survive the cut because every line is engineered to stay structurally connected to the whole. One sheet, no welding, no joins, wall-ready. The panel holds its shape across all five sizes without backing or reinforcement.
Light completes the piece. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The growth rings appear to deepen and recede as light moves through the day — sharper in direct morning sun, softer and more contemplative in the evening. It is a living quality flat prints and framed photographs cannot reach, one that shifts with every change in the room's light.
Four finishes to suit the room: matte black for the sharpest contrast against light walls, matte white for a calmer presence in a study or cabin, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a warm metallic grain that echoes the wood texture, or corten rust for an earthy patina that deepens naturally over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg depending on design complexity. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of steel — no assembly, no seams.
The result is a shadow-casting sculpture that transforms any wall into a gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions
A cross-section of an aged tree trunk, its concentric growth rings spreading from a dark central pith, broken by radial cracks and the rough texture of remnant bark. It reads as a record of time — every ring a year of the tree's life, held in 2mm steel as one continuous piece.
Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of 2mm low-carbon steel. The entire design — every ring, crack, and grain line — remains one continuous, structurally connected piece. No welding or assembly required.
The panel ships with standoff spacers and wall anchors. Mount the spacers to the wall, then attach the panel. The 15mm gap creates a floating effect with a layered shadow behind the steel that shifts throughout the day.
Four options: Matte Black for the sharpest contrast, Matte White for a calmer presence in a study or cabin, Raw Steel with a clear protective coat for a warm metallic grain that echoes the wood, and Corten Rust for an earthy patina that develops naturally over months.
Five sizes scaled to preserve the original proportions: S (45 cm), M (60 cm), L (80 cm), XL (100 cm), and XXL (130 cm) on the longer side. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 kg to 8 kg depending on size and design complexity.
