Cranes Over the Lotus Pond

One crane lifts into the mist, black wing tips spread wide, red crown catching the early light. Below, a second crane stands motionless in shallow water among lotus blooms and lily pads — stillness and flight in the same breath. This is a place you remember without ever having been there: a quiet morning over water, where the world holds its shape and waits. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every reed, petal, and outstretched feather stays connected in one continuous piece.

Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam traces the crane's primary feathers and the layered petals of the lotus with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold the slender stems of the lily pads and the misted edges of the distant trees. Each line is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole, so the composition arrives as one piece of steel: no welding, no assembly, no joins to interrupt the scene. The CNC engineering keeps the panel true to shape across all five sizes.

Light completes it. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, the panel casts a layered shadow that drifts as the day turns. The flying crane reads sharp and decisive in direct light, then softens into the wall at dusk — the lotus pond breathing with the room. It is a depth that flat prints and canvas cannot reach, shifting quietly with every change in ambient light.

Four finishes to suit the mood: matte black for the cleanest crane silhouette and the strongest contrast against light walls, matte white for spa and meditation spaces where calm comes first, raw steel with a clear protective coat for a subtle metallic grain, or corten rust for a warm, weathered patina that deepens over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg.
