The Prowling Black Cat

Back arched, tail raised, eyes fixed on something just out of frame — the black cat moves through the dark with a deliberation you recognise before you name it. This is the animal that crosses the threshold at dusk, the shadow that owns the room. Cut from a single sheet of 2mm steel, every whisker and every line of fur stays connected: the curl of the tail, the tense curve of the spine, the forward stare that refuses to look away.

Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows the cat's contour with 0.1mm precision — fine enough to hold individual whiskers and the directional texture of the fur. Each delicate line is engineered to remain structurally connected to the whole, so the panel arrives as one continuous piece. No welding, no assembly, no separate parts joined afterward. Wall-ready, holding its shape across all five sizes without backing or reinforcement.

Light does the rest. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, ambient light casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The cat seems to step out of the wall and back into it as the light moves through the day — sharper in direct morning sun, deeper and more menacing in the evening. It is a living quality that flat prints and canvas cannot approach.

Four finishes to match the room: matte black for the darkest, most gothic silhouette, matte white for a softer presence on bright walls, raw steel with a clear protective coat for industrial warmth and a subtle metallic grain, or corten rust for a weathered texture that deepens over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from approximately 1.5 to 8 kg.
