Two cranes meet mid-air, necks arched, beaks almost touching, wings spread against a sun half-swallowed by cloud. In Japan the red-crowned crane stands for devotion and a thousand years of life — and here, that meaning is held in a single moment of flight. Below them, dark waves curl; around them, petals scatter through a sky that shifts from blue to red. A pair, bound, cut from one continuous sheet of 2mm steel.

Laser-cut from low-carbon steel in a Polish workshop. The cutting beam follows each feather, each curve of the intertwined necks, the swirling cumulus and the breaking waves with 0.1mm precision. The crowns, the wingtips, the scattered blossoms — every fine element is engineered to stay structurally connected to the whole. One piece of steel, no welding, no joins, wall-ready out of the box.

Light completes the composition. Mounted on standoff spacers 15mm from the wall, the panel casts a layered shadow behind the steel. The cranes seem to lift away from the surface as daylight moves through the room — crisp and graphic in direct morning sun, soft and atmospheric by evening. It is a living quality that flat prints and canvas cannot reach.

Four finishes to suit the room: matte black for the sharpest silhouette and strong contrast on light walls, matte white for calm spa and minimalist interiors, raw steel with a clear protective coat for industrial warmth, or corten rust for a weathered, earthen texture that deepens over weeks and months. Five sizes from S (45 cm) to XXL (130 cm) on the longer side, each scaled to preserve the original proportions. Weight ranges from roughly 1.5 to 8 kg. All finishes and sizing details are covered in the craft and delivery guide.

Each panel is laser-cut from a single sheet of steel — no assembly, no seams.

The result is a shadow-casting sculpture that transforms any wall into a gallery.
